Use this sequence as a practical starting point. Adapt the owners, checks and handoffs to the way your own business works.
Record what arrived
Start with the event and ceremonies, the received files and any missing data. Record quantities consistently, especially when several cameras or drives are involved. Agree which stages the client has requested; every job does not need the same route.
Give each stage its own owner
Culling, colour correction, retouching and album design can involve different people. For each stage, record the owner, quantity and expected handoff. When work is split across editors, make the batch boundaries clear so photos are neither missed nor edited twice.
Define what ready means
The next editor needs to know which files are ready and which are still changing. Establish a handoff rule for each stage: selected photos, agreed colour references, a retouch list or an approved album brief. Keep the handoff location with the work record.
Keep album corrections together
Ask for corrections against a specific album version. Identify the spread or page and describe the requested change. Keep completed corrections visible in the record, then obtain approval for the revised version before treating the album as ready for final export.
Finish with an agreed handover
Check the final export against the job requirements and keep delivery details in the same project record. Record the relevant work quantities for billing and team payments. Storage, retention and print specifications should follow the actual agreement with that client.
